Choosing the best French Wine glasses
In a crowded marketplace we strive to help you find your perfect glasses. When it comes to the best French Wine glasses we look at the most popular, well-designed and produced vessels on sale today. Our choices are glasses we use, or would use, ourselves and are happy to be associated with. Hopefully we do the legwork to save you time and give you a great drinking experience!
Studio Silversmiths French Wine Glasses (set of four)
New for 2020, these goblet-themed French wine glasses are a fabulous blend of traditional and modern. No part of these glasses has been left untouched by the crafters and sumptuous details abound on every surface.
These crystal glasses have a generous 12 oz capacity and measure 3.5” x 3.1” x 6.7”. In the hand they feel impressive and have a good weight to them. The decorative collar adds to the ergonomics of the glass.
Bormioli Rocco Romantic French wine glass (set of six)
With 17th Century European influences, this set of high-quality glasses are unusual and interesting and will certainly prompt a few questions. Their use of irregular design cues impart the glasses with a Baroque appearance.
They can hold just under 11 oz of whichever wine you choose to sip with an eye on history.
Godinger Alba Amethyst French Wine Glasses (set of four)
Beautiful and intriguing, the Alba Amethyst glasses are a talking point in anyone’s collection. Capturing the aesthetics of vintage French glasses, these from the Shannon Crystal Collection are just a snapshot into the range. Godinger is approaching its 50th anniversary and this heritage is well-earned. We are always happy to review their latest products and we’re not let down by these. The purple coloring is gorgeous and we love how they catch the light.
The Godinger glasses have a 9 oz capacity and each measures 6.5” x 3.5” x 3” in size. The glass is thicker than you might expect and this lends them an impressive sturdiness.
Godinger Lumina French Wine glasses (set of four)
Our second appearance of this great quality brand are these fantastic Lumina French Wine glass goblets. They’re stunning to look at with their smoked glass and bobbly exterior. And tactile, too, we have rarely found such an intriguing glass. These have great heft although maybe too heavy for some. We can see the Lumina glasses being a great wedding gift or for your own special occasions and I see us using them on Thanksgiving.
Their dimensions are 4” x 3.25” x 6.25” and can hold 9 oz.
Lorren Home Trends Siena Collection Crystal (set of four)
Now for something completely different! The Lorren Home Trends da Vinci series offering from their Siena Collection is a delicate, refined crystal glass suitable for elegant soirees. From its subtly sculpted base, superb stem to its intricate bowl the da Vinci is every bit the classy glass. Topped with a gold rim we could swear that any wine tastes better from these. If anything, these glasses look better in person than
Understandably these glasses are hand wash only and clean up brilliantly time after time. The 7 oz volume is paired to overall dimensions of 3.25” x 3.25” x 7.75”.
Antoni Barcelona Handblown Handmade Glasses (set of four)
What we love about these high-end glasses is that they’re still crafted by professional glass artisans by hand. They’re beautiful, vibrant and available in two spot colours, the translucent gold and a translucent blue. Inspired by the stained glass of the Sagrada Familia Cathedral each glass is hand-painted and unique. The gold paint is a design that echoes the liveliness of city night life.
These are large glasses with a capacity of 29 oz and are made of lead-free glass. If you can get your hands on these attractive glasses we’re sure you’ll love how breath-taking they are in real-life.

Godinger Iced Beverage French Wine glasses (set of four)
Our third Godinger entry is one that is certain to make you look twice. We find it hard to choose between their different offerings; each having their own unique benefits and looks. These are remarkably clear, leaded glasses. It’s little wonder that these glasses are perennial favorites nationwide having been available for nearly 15 years! They are heavyweight and feel good in the hand although might be a little hefty for youngsters.
Their capacity is 16 oz, enough for a sizeable drink without being too unwieldy. We like how they manage to be decorative and durable at the same time.
Villeroy & Boch Boston Smoke French Glasses (set of four)
Villeroy & Boch’s goblets are beautiful with their cut honeycomb design and translucent smoky appearance. They do come in a range of other colors including red, blue, green and an attractive subtle rose. The green wins among our reviewers but it’s a close run thing. These glasses from the Boston Stemware collection are made in Germany and their quality is among the best we’ve seen.
These are actually dishwasher safe although we would recommend placing them in the top rack to be certain, or hand-washing to keep them in great condition.
Each glass measures 5” tall and has a bowl diameter of 3.5”. Made of 24% full-lead crystal their clarity and durability is second-to-none. Indeed, the Villeroy & Boch glasses come with a lifetime guarantee, something that not all suppliers are as confident to provide. With upwards of 270 years’ experience they have the expertise to make the finest products. If in doubt over which glasses to purchase then we highly recommend these as the best French Wine glasses.
